报告人简介: Prof. John Wen is the director of LEER. He joined the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo in July 2008. He graduated from the University of Toronto (MASc 2002, Ph.D. 2005). His graduate supervisor is Prof. Murray Thomson. He has more than three years of post-doc research experience at MIT where he worked with the Green group (Prof. Bill Green at Chemical Engineering) and Prof. Vander Sande’s research group (at Material Science and Engineering). He worked with Dr. Markus Kraft (Chemical Engineering, University of Cambridge) and Dr. Nabiha Chaumeix (CNRS, France) for some shorter periods. As a mechanical engineer, he has over 17 years of professional experience in the development and design of marine, automotive and aerospace engines. At UW, he is also a faculty member in WIN (Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology) and WISE (Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy).
